O’Grady Peyton International, part of the AMN Healthcare family, has over 25 years of experience in nurse recruiting and staffing. We have unparalleled access to highly qualified, well-trained nurses and allied health professionals from English-speaking countries around the world.

Whether you're looking to fill short- or long-term assignments, temporary-to-permanent or permanent positions in a wide range of specialties, count on O’Grady Peyton to find the right healthcare professional to suit your needs. Our experience and expertise allows us to provide customized solutions for an effective nurse and allied health staffing plan.

What kinds of nurse staffing do you provide?

We provide nurses from high-need specialties, such as OR, ER, ICU, telemetry and many others, licensed practical or vocational nurses and advanced practice nurses in a wide variety of specialties. We offer travel nurse assignments from 13 to 26 weeks, long-term nurse staffing from 18 to 24 months, and nurse recruitment services for permanent placement. For long-term and permanent placement, our nurse recruiting extends to English-speaking countries around the world.

What kinds of allied health staffing do you provide?

Our allied health staffing program offers facilities a selection of highly motivated, English-speaking candidates from outside of the U.S. These allied health professionals have a minimum of six months’ experience in a clinical setting and are available for 24-month assignments at your facility.

Where are your offices located?

O’Grady Peyton International has offices in Fort Lauderdale, FL, Savannah, GA, San Diego, CA and Birmingham, UK.  In addition, OGP approved allied health and nurse recruiters are also active in New Delhi and Manila, so we have access to a large network of highly qualified healthcare professionals in a wide range of specialties.

How do you prepare your healthcare professionals?

O’Grady Peyton International fully prepares candidates to become part of your team. All of our nurses and allied health professionals meet our strict standards for job experience and education. As part of our recruiting process, we carefully screen all candidates for their skills, credentials, knowledge and experience, based on the criteria you supply. We focus heavily on a high degree of continuing education, ensuring that our clinicians provide the best patient care. We continue to evaluate our temporary healthcare professionals after they are placed to ensure excellent performance, as well as to determine feasibility for future placements.

What are the benefits of choosing nurses from outside of the U.S.?

Our nurse recruiting specialists are dedicated to finding the right nurse for your facility. By recruiting English-speaking nurses from around the world, we’re able to address the current nursing shortage by offering our clients access to well-trained, highly qualified nurses across a wide range of specialties. Nurses are carefully prescreened to ensure they meet U.S. standards and have excellent references, outstanding clinical skills and several years experience in U.S.-equivalent acute-care facilities.

These nurses are available for 18- to 24-month assignments, as well as for permanent placement, so they can make a strong contribution to your healthcare team. We handle all nurse recruiting and immigration, licensing and relocation details and ensure they are well settled in their new surroundings and ready to begin as soon as they arrive at your facility.

Who handles immigration and licensing for temporary non-U.S. professionals?

When you select a nurse or allied health professional from outside the country, O’Grady Peyton takes care of all the immigration and licensing details, so when they arrive on assignment they are legal U.S. residents and fully licensed for their position at your facility.

How do you prepare nurses for their U.S. assignments?

O’Grady Peyton nurses are required to complete our education program to ensure that their skills and experience meet our high standards. Before they arrive at your facility, they have to complete at least 45 hours of continuing education, and they have access to free, continuing education. Our Clinical Assignment Management Team works with nurses to ensure that they meet the specific clinical requirements of your facility, and provide nurses with ongoing clinical support.

Our nurses receive full logistical support to ensure that housing, transportation and other details are taken care of before they begin at your facility. O’Grady Peyton provides ongoing emotional and cultural support to ensure that our nurses are adjusting well. Our nurses are fully supported so they are set up for success at your facility.

How do you support healthcare professionals once they’re on assignment?

All our professionals receive pre-assignment support to ensure they are properly trained to meet your facility’s needs. We offer nurses and allied health professionals ongoing clinical support for questions that arise on the job, as well as free, continuing education throughout their assignment.

Do you offer permanent placement for nurses?

To help facilities cope with the ongoing nursing shortage, we offer international permanent placement services through our ConnectSelect program. We oversee the time-consuming nurse recruiting and hiring process for you, including education and licensure—including NCLEX preparation—and we assist you in completing all immigration-related paperwork. O’Grady Peyton also provides pre- and post-arrival clinical support, cultural acclimation, relocation and ongoing support to ensure nurses feel at home.

How quickly can you place healthcare staff in my facility?

Our U.S.-based nurses can be placed in your facility within a matter of days or weeks for short-term positions, whereas non-U.S. healthcare professionals take between 16 and 20 months since we handle immigration and licensing. However, these professionals are available for long-term positions at your facility: Nurses are available for 18- to 24-months or permanent placement, and allied health professionals are available for 24-month assignments.

Is it possible to extend a temporary assignment?

Yes, in fact many nurses and allied health professionals extend beyond their initial assignment. You can extend a temporary assignment for any duration to suit your facility’s nursing and allied health staffing plans.

Is there an additional charge if I decide to hire a nurse or allied professional at the end of their temporary assignment?

No. Once our healthcare professionals complete their contract, you are free to hire them at no additional charge. Because professionals trained outside the U.S. remain at your facility for over a year, they develop a greater sense of loyalty to your facility and are more likely to transition to a permanent employee.

Who is responsible for providing accommodations for the temporary healthcare professional?

We provide housing for our short-term travel nurses.

Do you provide insurance for temporary healthcare professionals?

We offer a comprehensive benefits program that includes health, dental, life and professional liability insurance.

Why would a provider work on a temporary basis?

Nurses and allied healthcare professionals practice on a temporary basis for many reasons, including:

  • Seeking flexible work opportunities.
  • Exploring different areas of the country.
  • Building their clinical skills and r‚sum‚ by working at prestigious healthcare facilities.
  • Escaping the demands and political environment of working as a permanent staff member.
  • Working through life and career transitions.
  • Earning competitive pay and enjoying industry-leading benefits.

How do hospitals develop an effective nurse staffing plan during a shortage?

Hospital leadership understands that seasonal fluctuations, illnesses (flu epidemics), new unit openings, staff vacancies and other scenarios create an ongoing need for supplemental staffing. O’Grady Peyton is experienced with helping facilities find highly qualified nurses and allied professionals to fill immediate staffing needs, so patients continue to receive excellent care regardless of staff vacancies. Our goal is to provide our clients with customized staffing solutions that are sensitive to their bottom line.

What is the first step I need to take if I have a staffing need?
