Nursing Licenses and Certifications
As a travel nurse, ensuring that your nursing licenses and certifications are kept current is an important part of a successful travel career. In order to apply for a position in a particular state, you must have a valid nursing license for that state. Note: In some cases, you may be able to use your nursing license in more than one state. The Nurse Licensure Compact authorizes a nurse licensed and residing in a Compact State to practice in other Compact States without having to obtain an additional nursing license or certification. To learn more about the compact, visit the Nurse Licensure Compact page on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Web site.
